DIRECTOR SORREL AHLFELD SHOOTS SHORT FILM FOR GETTY IMAGES Sorrel Ahlfeld's 2 Sense Productions, in association with Anonymous Content's Integrated Division, collaborates with Getty Images to create fresh, new innovative content for stock video and print purposes. The integrated short film, Bubbles, is an admiring, humorous, mesmerizing look at a city, at friendship and the technology that connects us all. "The collaboration with Getty Images enabled us to develop a creative, interesting idea that evolved organically," said Executive Producer of Anonymous Content's Integrated Division, Danielle Peretz.

I saw this as an unusual opportunity to bring together the exploratory freedom of a short film with the overall needs of a brand. Tim Sutton at Getty Images proved to be a great sounding board and collaborator as this piece took shape, encouraging my ideas while keeping his goals intact. Because the central turning point of the film is a misdirect of the character's intentions - are they up to no good? I employed an intentionally rough, documentary style, as if the viewer were hidden away, stealing glimpses from a distance. However, when their true intentions are revealed it had to be gentle, elegant, and otherworldly. To accomplish this aesthetic, we turned to the Panasonic Varicam and a variety of zoom lenses to get both the frenetic "stolen" shots as well as in-camera slow motion. New York City is an eminently photographable city that immediately lends character and depth to a subject. Instrumental to creating the tone and pace of this piece was the collaboration of Megan Brennan (editorial) and Adam Weiss (VFX) from Company X, as well as David Perlick-Molinari (music/sound design) of You Too Can Woo while Ben Looram of Sea Level helped create the final graded look. This artistic collaboration between a stock footage agency and creative content provider is unorthodox and exciting. I know that I, for one, am very pleased with the results and would happily do it all again. From Art Director Tim Sutton: Getty Images Getty Images came to Anonymous Content because of their strong, professionally creative presence in the industry. We knew the match up would be an amazing collaboration that would fit all of our criteria. When Sorrel Ahfled was brought onto the project, it became a perfect partnership because of his extensive experience with these kinds of campaigns that portray a unique storytelling experience. Approaching this project, I wanted to create a commercially viable scenario connecting the relationship of three 20-something friends moving through an ethereal urban environment, while using hand-held technology in a unique way. I knew that connecting those three ingredients would give Getty Images extremely marketable stock footage while simultaneously allowing us to explore nuances and visual styles that would inevitably take the work to a more exciting and dramatic place. Sorrel took my initial concept and blew the doors off of it in an awesome way. For Getty Images, our goal is to produce saleable clips that entice a new generation of art buyers and agencies. The relationship with Anonymous Content is a great way to show Getty Images as a creative filmmaking partner, instead of a stock footage house, producing shoots with highly stylized filmmaking that attract directors like Sorrel.
